Geomechanics
The Geomechanics team at PetroVision are proficient experts with a proven track record in performing high level geomechanical analysis and geomechanics support for a wide range of clients from consulting companies to operators worldwide. Our range of services includes:
- 1D Geomechanics incl. Pore Pressure Prediction, Fracture gradient, wellbore stability, real-time surveillance, Mud-shale interaction, sand production prediction and Hydraulic fracturing.
- 3D/4D Reservoir Geomechanics incl. 3D pore pressure cube & full field stress, fault & top seal integrity, reservoir compaction & subsidence and casing collapse.
Rock Physics
The Rock Physics team at PetroVision carries out special studies including Seismic Petrophysics and QI Approach, Dry Rock Modelling and Fluid Substitution, Inversion Feasibility Study, AVO Analysis, EEI Analysis, Seismic Data Conditioning & Inversion and Porosity and NTG Estimation, and Lithology, Fluid and Geo-body Analyses. These methods have been of significant benefit during prospect evaluation and maturations studies where most likely fluid types have been estimated and possible geo-bodies generated.
Unconventional Reservoir Studies
The team at PetroVision have been involved in very interesting projects and special studies for unconventional reservoirs around the world such as:
- Methane Gas Extraction: the design of a methane gas extraction facility to efficiently extract the gas from the deep waters of Lake Kivu. This involved modelling the impact of a gas extraction facility on the stability of the Lake Kivu using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique along with the One-Dimensional Hydrodynamic modelling tool AQUASIM.
- Heavy Oil Development: numerous studies of heavy oil reservoirs. The studies have included in-depth assessment of subsurface data to evaluate the technical and commercial challenges required for the development plan optimization, productivity assessment, defining solutions of secondary recovery optimization, facilities sizing and risk assessment.
- Tight Oil and Gas Reservoirs: significant international experience in tight gas reservoirs, gas condensate and volatile oil fields, horizontal wells, fracture wells, onshore/offshore developments to subsea networks. Typical activities include G&G assessment, WTA, fluid modelling, well modelling and production optimisation, numerical modelling, fracture modelling & CFD modelling, production forecasting and reserves assessment.
- Deepwater Development: worked alongside our clients to determine the best ways to develop these types of fields commercially, determine the key challenges and propose several scenarios and configurations using uncertainty analysis and risk assessment.
- Mineral Exploration and Mining Consultancy: a wide range of mineral exploration and mining consultancy services via our team who specialise in various mineral commodities.
